Appointments
Routine appointments
Please telephone the surgery on 0121 773 4622, all consultations are by appointment.
The receptionist will always try to give you an appointment on the day of your choice with the doctor of your choice. However, please bear in mind this is not always possible.
We offer appointment bookings two weeks in advance.
We offer a text reminder service, which can send you a reminder via text message prior to your appointment. Please speak to our receptionists for further information.
Pharmacy First Scheme
You can also now get treatment for seven common conditions directly from your local pharmacy, without the need for a GP appointment or prescription.
The Pharmacy First scheme was launched by the government and NHS England on 31 January 2024 to give patients quick and accessible care and support GP practices.
The seven common conditions are:
- Sinusitis
- Sore throat
- Earache
- Infected insect bite
- Impetigo (a bacterial skin infection)
- Shingles
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.
You can get treatment for these conditions by walking into the pharmacy or our receptionist can also refer you to the pharmacy of your choice.
Urgent appointments
Any patient who needs to see a doctor urgently can do so on the same day but not necessarily with the doctor of your choice. Please phone us on 0121 773 4622.
Please do not request an urgent appointment for a minor or long standing problems.
We will try and accommodate all urgent and emergency requests.
Cancelling your appointment
Please cancel your appointment at least one hour before your appointment time so that it can be offered out to another patient.
If you do not cancel your appointment in a timely manner this will be noted as did not attend (DNA) and we have a policy where we can remove you if you have 3 or more DNAs.

Home visits
If you need to see a doctor and are too ill to travel to the surgery or are housebound, please telephone before 11.00am, (requests for visits made after 11.00am should be for emergencies only). Please only ask for a visit if you really need one. Home visits are time-consuming and there are better facilities for examining and treating you in surgery. Be prepared to give our staff full details of your symptoms. This information helps the doctor assess the urgency of the home visit.
